Schull hotel close to sale

Schull’s Harbour View Hotel, which cost €10m to build and last went on the market at €1m in January, is under offer at €910,000 and is close to a deal with an overseas buyer, according to Denis O’Donoghue of Savills.

“We are close to a deal and there’s been huge interest in the property, even from half way round the world.

“There’s a strong weight of support from the local community to open it and we have an offer close to the asking price and a deal will be struck in a very short time frame, and we’re very happy with the response,” says O’Donoghue.
He wasn’t prepared to reveal the identity of the proposed buyer, but suggests that the 48 bed hotel could be sold sooner, rather than later. The property, which comprises an hotel and apartment development, is under offer in lots: Lot 1 is the hotel at €460,000 and Lot 2 is eight apartments at €450,000.
