David Wachman can continue his good start to the Flat campaign by saddling Precious Dream to land the Students Of Limerick Race at Limerick this evening.

Precious Dream is bred to be a star, being by Mr Greely out of the high-class Lady Carla, but all the evidence thus far is that clearly she isn’t.

The selection only hinted at possessing ability in two outings as a juvenile, before getting off the mark at the first time of asking this season at Dundalk earlier in the month. Light in the market, she quickened well from the furlong pole to easily beat Dimitar by two lengths.

The experienced Crimson Sunrise has 5lbs in hand of Precious Dream at the weights, but hasn’t been seen for 213 days and is passed over on that basis.

Dermot Weld trains Crimson Sunrise and can enjoy better luck with Diplomat in the Jog For Jockeys 29th July Median Auction Maiden.

The Kitten’s Joy colt has two solid efforts to his credit, the second of them coming at Navan in October when beaten three parts of a length by Aidan O’Brien’s Tower Rock, who went on to take third in a Listed event at Leopardstown.

Weld’s lightly-raced Train Of thought, who has obviously been hard to train, gets the nod in the Limerick Run Maiden. He hasn’t been since finishing a creditable third behind a smart pair in Best Hello and Apache at Leopardstown a year ago and, hopefully the market will speak in his favour.

Jim Bolger’s hat-trick seeking East Of Tara is the interesting one in the It’s A Student’s Life Handicap.

She’s had just two outings for Bolger and won them both, the latest coming at Dundalk last Friday night when bolting in.

The daughter of Barathea has now gone up 15lbs, including a mandatory 5lbs penalty. But East Of Tara has been raised by a further 10lbs in the future and has to be the choice.
